"I saw 'em tonight. A revelation. I had no idea we had something like this [in Knoxville]... I was stone cold sober and still loved it. That's saying a lot 'cause not drinking usually makes me really grumpy."

-Jack Rentfro

The Boozehound Gandy Dance consists of monologues, comedy, satire and a lot of music--original & traditional songs and occasionally contemporary covers are woven into the fabrics of the show. A lot of our material is based around Knoxville and Appalachia. We're inspired by kudzu, vaudeville, americana-folk music, railways, moonshine and coal mines.

The Boozehound Gandy Dance made its debut at the Mary Boyce Temple House in June 2007 to an overwhelming crowd. Two follow-up shows were scheduled the following month to equal success. The Temple House, under renovations, helped give the show a juke-joint atmosphere while providing the public with another chance to see the house, as well as the show, as a work in progress.

The show has since been performed at Ironwood Studios, World Grotto as well as the streets of Knoxville. We like to play in odd places.
