Charles "Chaz" Amos Davenport IV, a superstitious son of undertakers, finds himself homeless and alone one day. Not knowing what to do Chaz packs a bag and heads out, by foot, on the open road. He doesn't get far before he makes friends with a group of outlaw hobos and gypsies. Chaz, not understanding the concept of not working, helps the group earn money for liquor and leftovers by organizing their talents into a show. Together they try to make a living by singin', dancin', trampin' and boozin'.
The Host: Charles "Chaz" Amos Davenport IV (Bran Rogers) was born into the Davenport Mortuary family. Raised by a strict undertaker and a loony, supersitious mortician, Chaz knew there must be more to life than profiting from death. He went out to find it after the family business went bankrupt and he was left with nothing but a reason to run. Chaz is haunted by the ghosts of his past as well as those of haunted houses he squats in.
Billie "Blue Eyes" McGhee (Jenna Hancock) never seemed to fit in anywhere. Never went to school, got kicked out of her mama's house for cutting her hair too short, got kicked out of her apartment for cutting her landlord too short. She's a trick- all sweet and innocent lookin' but she'll jump up and bite your ass if you're not careful. We don't call her the "boobie trap" for nothing!
Maude Maplehurst (Lila Honaker) is "the one who started this gig." Back when the band was playing the riverside Maude was the one all the people came to see. She hopped off a train one day after giving up her search for her father and started singing with some homeless musicians by the river. She dominated the hobo stage until Lulu came along.
Lulu Skidoo (Michelle Sanders)
Lulu knows how to do two things: make do and skidoo. After shooting her cheating husband and burning down their saloon, she planned to start a new life. Little did she know, the hobos out back witnessed the whole thing, so she struck a deal with them not to give away her secret and in exchange she would bring them a crowd for their performances. She changed her name and now hides out under the viaducts while still looking fabulous for the patrons
Freddy Firecracker (Tim Eisinger) is an odd one. He's worked the mines, the railroad and the stills. Freddy's a quiet one but he makes his guitar do the talkin'
Smacks Cobblecorn (Justin Powers) was a Sociologist studying and working at the IFI University until one
day he had an epiphany: Hoboism was the ultimate lifestyle!
Legz Chiggins (Greg Eisinger)
It was during a gig opening up for the great Charlie Parker that he first found the needle. Ever since he caught a ride on that train, things ain't been so good for him. He got the nickname "Legs" because he'd have the shakes so bad when he was playing, people actually thought he was dancing. He got fired from his band and became accustomed to life on the streets. After a brief episode in a gypsy circus, Legz was discovered by a lady named Maude Maplehurst who brought him into her band. The only problem is Legz has eyes for Lulu.
Frankie (Amy Clowers)
Frankly, no one really knows much about Frankie. All we know is Frankie loves Billie and is always proposing to her .
